A family story

1997
The company was founded in 1997 by my parents : Sandrine and David Martin. Originally restorers and dealers of all kinds of furniture, it was after discovering a trunk in the attic of David's childhood home that these two passionate antique dealers decided to specialise in these objects. They started by offering wooden trunks, generally curved and entirely unstained.
In 5 years, they sold nearly 1000 pieces of luggage on various flea markets all over France. Since we were young, my sister and I followed them every weekend on these trips, to organise the trunk stands and discover the different towns in France.
2004
In 2004, David bought his first Louis Vuitton trunk, a black car trunk. With a retail price equivalent to four very nice wooden trunks, it represented a considerable investment for both my parents.
Over the next few years, the number of wooden trunks diminished more and more to make room for the much more luxurious ones. From then on, the search for the pieces became more complicated and the restoration much more sophisticated.
Trunks and luggage have been my passion since I was a child, I have always grown up among them. It was therefore natural for me to become involved in the family business in 2015. I have since learned to authenticate the different models & periods, to discover their stories, to restore them faithfully and to sell them alongside my parents.
Today
Today, we specialise in the restoration, purchase and sale of luxury trunks and luggage worldwide. Our customers are mainly private individuals, lovers of beautiful things and attached to an authentic know-how.
Bagage Collection wants to preserve this precious link with its customers by presenting its numerous trunks throughout France. These events allow us to promote an ancient know-how and to share our passion.
Located in the heart of Normandy, our collection now contains models from all eras and all brands, with origins from all over the world, from the greatest families of the 19th and 20th centuries.
