Goyard cabin trunk c.1930
Exceptional Goyard cabin trunk from the 1930s, covered with the emblematic Goyardine monogram canvas and protected by lozine borders. We notice that this trunk is designed with borders and slats largely thicker. These reinforcements were appreciated by travelers to the United States, as transatlantic travel was known to be particularly hard on trunks and luggage. These features ensured that customers would find their trunks in good condition.
The trunk is equipped with brass clasps and jewelry stamped E. GOYARD Ainé PARIS. We find on the two toads a manufacturing number 523 as well as the address of 233 rue St honoré on the central lock.
The passage of a leather strap of reinforcement is foreseen under the thick slats. We notice a label of the LOCARNO hotel in Milan, indicating a trip of the trunk in Italy. The bottom of the luggage is covered with zinc, to protect the contents of the trunk from moisture.
The interior is clean, with the padding on the lid allowing guests to attach photos and letters. The bottom of the trunk is slightly marked.
Very good condition: The trunk is in superb condition, with some markings on the outer lozine. Perfect condition of the outer canvas. Capiton in nice condition, with the original frame for storing clothes.
