Louis Vuitton car trunk c.1907
Superb Louis Vuitton Car trunk of Pavillon sold in 1907.It is covered with a canvas coated with a stencil monogram and is equipped with 2 brass handles. These handles have a particular shape, allowing the travelers of 1900 to fix this trunk firmly on the roof of the car with a leather strap.
When cleaning the trunk, we found the "LV" logo of the Louis Vuitton brand painted in white on each side. It is very rare to find this type of painting, generally present on the few trunks presented on the stands of the exhibitions of the time (World's Fair for example). We also notice a very nice red brass plate, Louis Vuitton authenticity plate with the indication "MOTOR TRUNKS - PARIS and LONDON".
The locks are stamped Louis Vuitton Paris, with the different addresses of the stores at the time. The shape of the two brass buckles prevented the trunk from opening during travel to ensure a perfect seal.
The interior is clean, with the authentication number and the Louis Vuitton manufacturer's label. The bottom of the trunk has been covered with a beige linen.
Very good condition: The trunk is in superb condition for its age, with some marks on the corners and edges of the luggage. The bottom is brown with the wood stamped Louis Vuitton.
