Superb 1910 Louis Vuitton travel trunk, covered with yellow stenciled monogrammed canvas and protected by black lozine trim. The trunk is equipped with three brass clasps stamped "Louis Vuitton" as well as metal angle irons to ensure great solidity during travel. The central lock appears to have been changed by Louis Vuitton, it is numbered/engraved but a little more recent than the original lock.

On each side is the original owner's name painted in black and red "A de Chambrun" corresponding to Aldebert de Chambrun. French ambassador to the United States in the early 20th century, he later became a lawyer in New York. He was also the brother-in-law of the most famous explorer of the 19th century, Savorgan de Brazza, a loyal friend of Louis Vuitton, and wrote the first biography of this man a few years after his death.

The inside of the trunk is covered in beige cotton canvas, with the Louis Vuitton manufacturer's label showing the various store addresses at the time, as well as the authentication number corresponding to the year 1910.

Very good condition: The trunk is in superb condition for its age, with a few marks on the outer canvas or on the edges. Patinated interior with small stains on the upholstery. Superb overall patina, with a nice shine to the yellow monogram.
