Rare Louis Vuitton trunk from 1913, of an intermediate size between the cabin trunk and the mail trunk. This trunk has lozine borders, with a stenciled monogram canvas and brass parts stamped Louis Vuitton. The two leather handles are restored to the original pieces.

The interior of the trunk is lined with a beige cotton canvas, with the original monogrammed "Louis Vuitton" padding and the four straps for securing clothing during travel. The trunk's authenticity label with the various Louis Vuitton shop addresses of the time can be seen inside, as well as the serial number of the luggage painted on the canvas.

On the outside of the luggage, on the right side, there is a beautiful shipping label indicating the destination of "PARIS" with blue art deco typography. We can guess that this trip was from New York because of another document indicating a crossing on the famous White Star Line liner S.S Adriatic (infamous for the Titanic). The original traveller was travelling first class, as indicated on the label on the right, and the belongings in his trunk were subject to a customs check on departure from the USA (US customs stamp stuck on the trunk). The initials of the first owner, E.B.V, are painted on each side, as well as the number of the luggage. This was his 11th trunk.

Very good condition : Despite a perilous journey, this trunk is in a superb state of preservation. The interior is in perfect original condition. Some marks on the lozine and the outer canvas. Patina on the brass parts.
