Alzer Louis Vuitton crocodile c.1934
Exceptional and rare Alzer Louis Vuitton Crocodile Porosus luggage carrier from 1934 in perfect condition. Iconic and probably one of the most luxurious pieces of luggage of all time, crocodile trunks and suitcases have always been the ultimate in luxury for a traveler. Very few models have been made by Louis Vuitton since the 1900s, which is why it is particularly rare to find these items today.
This model is in perfect condition, covered entirely in crocodile and equipped with brass jewelry stamped Louis Vuitton Paris, protective corners and a crocodile handle. The various Louis Vuitton store addresses of the time are also indicated on the central lock, along with the clasp number: 104591.
The interior is fully lined in dark brown leather, with the Louis Vuitton manufacturer's stamp on the leather and the authenticity number of the suitcase: 804 475. We notice on the Louis Vuitton marking the address of the Champs Elysées Louis Vuitton store of the time, of Cannes, Nice and Vichy
Very good condition: Superb patina of the different scales, with a very nice shine on the whole crocodile. Some fine marks on the bottom and on the corners of the luggage, but overall in excellent condition for its time.
Crocodile pieces were reserved for Louis Vuitton's wealthiest clients and are now often featured in the brand's heritage and history books to highlight this unique craftsmanship. This is the first time we have found and offered a similar model in 25 years of collecting.
